Meet Morellifit Coach Christopher Smith, known as Chip or just Chris around here. He is an avid fitness lover and a hard core student for always learning more. He first became interested in fitness at age 18 when he joined a gym class his Senior year. Like most guys new to fitness the first exercises he learned were the military shoulder press, bicep curls, pull ups and bench press. He found his passion for it at 19 when his friend Mark asked him to join a gym and get more serious about fitness.
This ignited Chris’ love for fitness and his desire to learn as much as he could about it which led him to subscribe to many different fitness magazines so he could soak up as much fitness information as possible. Having this new knowledge and a dedicated gym partner who encouraged him to become more regimented in his training; they pushed each other to become their best, training 5 days a week and never missing a workout.
His desire to become as muscular as he could, stemmed from being self conscious as a kid and the teasing he endured from being a very small adolescent. His hard work and desire paid off as he was able to gain 50 lbs. in 18 months through proper eating and consistent exercise. He continued to learn as much as possible about training and nutrition, and what began as an obsession to change his body grew into new found confidence and passion for this lifestyle.
After changing so much about his own fitness, other people began to notice and asked him how he did it. He found he loved teaching and helping other people, and after attending a seminar called “Devine Destiny” he identified this as his passion and decided to pursue fitness as a career. He started by approaching LA Fitness; asking for a job. He was immediately hired on as an assistant manager. While this job only had him selling personal fitness packages for very little pay, he struggled through while getting certified with ISSA.
Chris moved on to work at two other gyms, but low pay and bad management almost made him give up his dream to work in this industry. It wasn’t until someone at Pulse Fitness called and hired him over dozens of other candidates that things changed. They saw his passion and gave him a chance to grow his clientele through their gym. He worked there for five years while also training hundreds of clients and climbing up to the position of Fitness Director.
It was only when he found an opportunity with Morellifit that Chris left his beloved gym to come on board and be a part of the Morellifit Family. The opportunity to reach over a million people ignites Chris’ passion to spread knowledge to others and help more people than he ever thought possible.
